Nigel was an excellent trainer. Hands down the most informative and engaging training I've had over the years in first aid student training. I feel comfortable and confident moving forward with my first aid, CPR and medical emergencies. Certificate arrived very promptly. Would highly recommend.

I have completed first aid training every three years for the past 30 years as part of my work, and I can honestly say Nigel's course is one of the best I have ever attended.

We recently completed our very first training with Nigel and his son for First Aid, and it was a fantastic experience. They came highly recommended by our Logan team, and they truly lived up to it.

About us

F.A.S.T. — First Aid Student Training

We're a family owned business established in 2015, delivering professional, friendly and nationally recognised courses. Our courses are fast-tracked: the pre-course component is done online at your own pace at home, then you're booked in for face-to-face practical training with our assessor. That flexible delivery replaces the typical two-day Senior First Aid course with around six hours of practical training plus testing. Workbooks are also available for pre-study.

The First Aid Code of Practice sets out how many trained people your workplace needs, along with the first aid and CPR facilities you have to provide. Not sure where you stand? Give Nigel a call.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't see what you're after? Call Nigel on 0422 110 734 — he'd rather answer it than have you guess.

Do I really need a USI before I can enrol?
Yes. A Unique Student Identifier is required by law for anyone doing nationally recognised training in Australia. It's free, takes a couple of minutes, and you only ever create it once. Create yours at usi.gov.au.
How often do I need to renew my certificate?
Industry guidance is that CPR (HLTAID009) should be refreshed every 12 months, and Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) every 3 years. Some workplaces set stricter requirements, so check with your employer.
Is there anything to do before the practical session?
Yes — once you enrol you'll get an email with a link to your online pre-course workbook. Doing the theory beforehand is what keeps the face-to-face session down to about six hours instead of two days. Finish it before your course date.
Can you train our whole team at our workplace?
Absolutely — onsite group training is one of the things we do most. Nigel travels to workplaces across Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast, which saves your team the travel time and keeps everyone's certification on the same renewal cycle. Call 0422 110 734.
Which course do I actually need?
If work just wants a CPR refresher, that's HLTAID009. If they've asked for "first aid", it's almost always HLTAID011, which includes CPR. Childcare, kindy or school means HLTAID012. Electrical work on live LV panels means LVR. Still not sure? Ring and ask.

Be prepared. Be confident. Be first aid ready.

Pick a date that suits you, or get Nigel out to your workplace. Either way you'll leave knowing exactly what to do.
